State of Ohio Abortion Statistics
Lot of arguments sound convincing, but they don't hold up without facts to back them up. Make sure you have the facts. Abortion numbers for the state of Ohio were recently published by the Pro-life website Abort73.com. You can find them here.

I wonder how many of the abortions in those statistics are performed at the Women's Med Center facilities. Honestly, it wouldn't be too hard to figure out but I don't think I even want to know the number.

Cincinnati Health Department Health Commisioner, Noble A-W Maseru
N. Maseru, Health Commissioner
_This is actually concerning Planned Parenthood and not the WMC, but it's still something everyone in the Cincinnati area should know about. Remember that it's your tax dollars that are being used to do this.

(LifeNews.com) The Cincinnati Board of Health voted unanimously to give a sub-grant of up to $85,000 to the Planned Parenthood abortion business in the area, Planned Parenthood of Southwest Ohio. This is the same abortion business that was caught covering up a case of sexual abuse of a minor.

“This is a reallocation of funds from Stop AIDS, which was defunded by the state after an independent audit, for Planned Parenthood to use for HIV/AIDS testing and prevention,” Right to Life of Cincinnati executive director Paula Westwood told LifeNews today. “Stop AIDS counselors will work for Planned Parenthood.”

Ohio Governor Kasich Signs New Pro-Life Law

11/9/2011

(The New American) Late last week Governor John Kasich (R-OH) signed HB 63 into law, imposing strict requirements on minors seeking abortions without the consent of their parents. The news release issued by the Governor’s office reports:

"Today Gov. John R. Kasich signed Amended House Bill 63 (Young/Slaby), which revises the procedures governing a hearing at which a court may permit a pregnant minor to have an abortion. The bill also requires that in order for a court to grant its consent to the minor, it must make its findings by clear and convincing evidence."

The new law raises the consent threshold established by the previous statute. The old law mandated that a minor wishing to avoid obtaining parental permission receive judicial consent before being allowed to abort her unborn child.

We're nearing the end of the first 40 Days for Life campaign at the WMC (Don't worry, we're not going anywhere) but even on the first day back in October the staff seemed to be very irritated. It seems as though they don't like having to try to explain away the information that we want everyone to know about abortion and how cruel and unnecessary it truly is. That day they jumped at the chance to call police, and here is a recording of that call. (Edited for clarity)

Abortion Practitioner Under Investigation in Indiana

11/2/2011

(LifeNews.com) An abortion practitioner based in Indiana is under investigation by state officials for hiding the fact that he does abortions in the Hoosier State on medical forms filed with Ohio officials.

Walter T. Bowers, II is one of two abortion practitioners working at the late-term abortion facility in Ohio run by Martin Haskel, one of the main promoters of the now-banned partial-birth abortion procedure. Bowers is working at the facility under a variance the Ohio state health department issued that has caused considerable controversy because it allows Haskell’s abortion facility to avoid complying with state law requiring a transfer agreement with a local hospital to transport patients who are injured in botched abortions for immediate medical care.
